I could talk about my recent trip to Wyoming (which explains the 13,000+ watch messages), or the fact I'm casted in yet another play, or that it's summer vacation and Imma be a freaking SENIOR next year. But unlike Brazil, I know what issues are most important to address.

I am not a huge fan of football (or as they say here in the U.S. and nowhere else in the world, soccer), but I am an active reader and analyzer of world issues. And this is a truly overlooked situation.

I am not cheering for any team in the FIFA world cup. Not the U.S., not Ireland, not Germany, not Japan, not South Africa, not Portugal. Nada. And I am pointing this out NOT because people are constantly telling me to have more team spirit (believe me, if this were any other worldwide sports situation, I would be fondly rooting for the country I think was most qualified to win.)

No, it's not because I don't want to root for a team.

It's because I don't want to root for the world cup.

I am boycotting the FIFA world cup.

Brazil is a country who has way too many financial domestic problems that should be seen as its primary conflicts. Hosting the world cup is a waste of money for momentary glory, while they could be spending that money to fund education and social welfare programs that, if executed with stability and perseverance, would have the power to affect the country for decades.

The FIFA world cup is a disgrace. It won't be until afterwords that football fans will realize that people can't live in stadiums and can't eat footballs.

Next time, a big event, especially sports-related, should be hosted in country that CAN, and not just because it will earn them their quick-dying burst of fame, but because they can afford to put their other issues on hold.

Sorry to waste your time.

Sorry to interrupt your precious game.

I hope it was worth it.

I am not ending with a wave here. This isn't happy.

I could pretend it's happy.

But I won't

P.S. Shame on you too, Google, for glorifying this sham. I like you as a search engine, you're very effective, but you should realize the truth that you always know.

SeptaChromaJ, I could say the exact same thing for DeviantART. Lemme give it a try.

I could talk about my recent trip to Wyoming (which explains the 13,000+ watch messages), or the fact I'm casted in yet another play, or that it's summer vacation and Imma be a freaking SENIOR next year. But unlike DeviantART, I know what issues are most important to address.

I am not a huge fan of art, but I am an active reader and analyzer of world issues. And this is a truly overlooked situation.

I am not cheering for any artist in DeviantART. Not any American, not any Irish person, not any German, not any Japanese person, not anyone from South Africa, not any Portuguese person. Nada. And I am pointing this out NOT because people are constantly telling me to have more nerd spirit (believe me, if this were any other worldwide drawing competition, I would be fondly rooting for the artist I think was most qualified to win.)

How's that? Perhaps you should realize that there's more to life than physical needs. Creating friendship bonds through sports is a good thing, not a bad thing, and I'm sorry you can't realize that.
